We've just released a major update to länk.bio, and we hope you'll love it. Some changes were necessary, while others are ongoing improvements to keep the platform running as smoothly as possible. You've probably already noticed some of them, but here we go into detail about what's changed.

Design

Many of the design changes on the site relate to accessibility. Websites are increasingly required to be accessible to everyone, regardless of disabilities, diagnoses, and/or visual impairments. We've therefore adjusted colors throughout the site to achieve proper contrast in accordance with WCAG guidelines.

But since we were already redesigning half the site, we took the opportunity to make some bigger changes as well. Some pages have been completely overhauled, while others have received a light refresh. We've also added dark mode, which can be toggled via the moon/sun icon in the header. You can also set your preference in your settings if you always want either light or dark mode.

Block Editing

Perhaps the most-used feature on länk.bio is our block editor, used to add and customize the content on your landing page. It should of course be as good as possible, so that you as a user have the best conditions for creating a great landing page for your visitors and customers.

The biggest addition here is live block updates. When you make changes such as switching colors, adjusting corner rounding, editing text, or uploading new images, you'll see the changes immediately in the preview.

We've also removed the popup window that appeared above the preview when editing a block, and instead integrated the block editor into the same panel as the block list. You simply switch tabs to move between the editor, the toolbox, and your list of blocks. This also makes it easier to see the preview on smaller screens.

The time simulator has been updated to make it even easier to preview how your landing page looks when certain blocks are hidden or shown based on schedules. You will now get suggested dates and times based on your schedules.

The block editor now also checks whether you have any unsaved changes before switching blocks.

Spotify

Previously, the Spotify block worked directly with Spotify's API, which meant that your podcast block was always updated with the latest episode. Unfortunately, this is no longer possible as Spotify has significantly restricted its API. The Spotify block has therefore become more manual than before. It no longer automatically finds content on Apple Music or Apple Podcasts, but still supports displaying an embedded Apple player. You'll just need to paste the link in manually instead. Podcasts will also no longer update automatically when new episodes are released. We're sorry about this!

Other updates:

• Improved statistics view, with clearer loading indicators and a better layout across different screen sizes.
• Improved accessibility throughout the interface, with better keyboard support, clearer interactive elements, image descriptions, and more consistent navigation.
• If you manage multiple landing pages, you can now switch between them while in Appearance, Content, Subscription, or Statistics — without having to return to the control panel homepage and switching via the widget there.
• The mobile preview of the landing page has been improved.
• The color picker has been rebuilt from the ground up, improving stability and usability.
• Quickstagram now has a limit of showing the 20 most recent posts at a time. This prevents long loading times when working with Quickstagram.
• Refined control panel design, with more consistent color choices, icons, and interface components.
• More changes in the block editor:
  • The toolbox has a new look.
  • The text editor now displays in the correct font, based on the landing page's primary/secondary typeface.
  • The Instagram editor is easier to use, with clearer fields for entering post links.
  • E-commerce blocks have a brand new editor, divided into tabs for easier use.
  • Image blocks no longer show a preview inside the block editor.
• Rebuilt navigation on both desktop and mobile for clarity and accessibility.
• Improved language switcher, with clearer language selection and better mobile adaptation.
• Loads of performance improvements, bug fixes, and security patches.

If you happen to spot any bugs — don't hesitate to reach out. We've tried to double- and triple-check that everything works, but with an update this large, it's quite expected that something might not behave as intended.
