Changes to Instagram integrations (Nov 24)
What is an API?
An API (Application Programming Interface) is a way for different programs to \"talk\" to each other. It works like a bridge that allows one application to request and retrieve data from another, without needing to know exactly how the other system works.
In our case, we use Meta’s API so that you can securely log in to Instagram and/or Facebook, fetch images from posts, and schedule and publish content on Instagram. All of this without having to give your password directly to länk.bio.
What has changed?
Meta has changed the conditions for certain Instagram integrations. This may affect how existing connections work and what permissions are required in the future.
If you notice that an Instagram integration has stopped working, you may need to reconnect your account and approve the new permissions requested by Meta.
What does this mean for me?
For many customers, nothing needs to be done immediately. But if you use Instagram integrations for image feeds, scheduling, or publishing, you may need to reconnect your account.
We recommend checking your connected accounts under Settings in the control panel. If something is missing or no longer updates as expected, remove the connection and connect it again.
How do I continue using Instagram integrations?
Go to the Settings tab in the control panel and scroll to the section for social media connections. There you can reconnect your Instagram/Facebook account and approve the permissions needed for länk.bio to continue working as intended.
If you manage multiple accounts or pages, make sure you choose the correct accounts during the connection process.
