Instagram feed

Having your Instagram feed on your landing page is perhaps the smoothest way to link to relevant content. If you run an online store, you might have posted a photo on social media of a new earring available in your shop. When the customer visits your website, navigates to earrings through the jewelry submenu, filters for the latest products... it’s a lot of clicks before they reach it, and they might lose interest by then.

Instead, make the photo a clickable link that goes directly to the product page where the customer can read more and order. The same image you've posted on Instagram.

Another example is if you run a news site. You might only post headline images on Instagram to spark curiosity and encourage users to visit your website for the full story. Link your headline images directly to the article to make it easier for customers to find.

Here’s how

In the control panel, go to the Settings tab and choose which of your profiles to link an Instagram account to. On a computer, you’ll see the menu on the right, and on mobile, you have buttons at the top of the page to switch to profile settings.

Then scroll down to the social media section. There you’ll find two buttons: one for linking a professional Instagram account and one for making a Business connection.

What's what?

A professional Instagram account is for standalone profiles, which might be used without Facebook. Note that this option is not available for purely personal profiles; the account must be a "business or creator account". The easiest way to check if your account is professional is to go to your profile in the Instagram app and see if you have options for professional insights and statistics, right under your bio. If you want to convert your account to a professional account, we refer you to Instagram's own guide. You'll also need the password for the Instagram profile on hand.

Business connection means länk.bio connects to Facebook to fetch your managed pages. A professional Instagram account is linked to a Facebook page, which you might usually manage in Meta Business Suite. A business connection might be the option you choose if you have multiple profiles you want to import. A Business connection is required to post and schedule Instagram posts directly from the länk.bio control panel.

If you proceed with a personal Instagram account, Instagram will open in a new browser tab where you simply log in with your @username and password. After that, you will be asked if länk.bio can access your profile; accept this.

If you proceed with a Business connection, you’ll be able to choose which pages/companies you want to integrate with länk.bio. You’ll need to grant permissions for profile information and media (image access), but it's optional to grant länk.bio the rights to post images. This is for the feature to publish and schedule posts via the control panel.

Once you've linked an account, it appears on the same page under Settings. Now you’re ready to post images on the landing page.

Instagram Block

To start displaying your images on the landing page and make them clickable, you need to create an Instagram block. Here’s how:
  • Go to Content, scroll to the bottom, and click New Block. Click on the new block and select Instagram feed.
  • If you have multiple linked Instagram accounts, a menu will let you choose which account to load images from; otherwise, only your linked account will appear. Select how many images you want to load and then click "run!".
  • Click on an image to add it to the landing page. A box will appear where you enter a link, such as myshop.com/my-product. You don’t need to link every image. Just click on the ones you want to add to the landing page.
  • Save the block when you’re done.
Your clickable images are now visible!

Quickstagram

Quickstagram runs a few times an hour and scans your account for new images. This allows you to post images on Instagram, log into länk.bio, and add the new images to the landing page directly through the Instagram widget on the homepage. Super smooth!
